"Tony gave his all for the whole community in North Down and was a well-respected and highly committed Alliance activist and Councillor. He was a man of true integrity whose dedication to public service deserves commendation and recognition."

Speaking for all of the Alliance Team in North Down, Cllr Anne Wilson said: "Tony was a hard working councillor who served everyone in the community. He will very sorely missed and he was at the heart of the Alliance team in North Down.

"We feel that a great friend and a brilliant team member has been lost. Tony lived for his family and to help the community, and our thoughts are with his family at this extremely difficult time.
